AirMagnet Survey Analysis
The field of wireless engineering is an invisible 3 Dimensional field of physics. The problems of interference and signal penetration are key to achieving what business really needs, a rock solid WiFi network.
By performing pre installation site surveys, iNE is able to provide our clients with pin point precise access point allocation giving the best possible wireless coverage for the required volume of users. Whether it's using our own choice of wireless platform, Bluesocket, to the biggest in the game, Cisco, AirMagnet positions these manufacturers solutions to work as designed. Reliably.
In our experience we have tested the software to the limits, assisting in projects such as the Westmead Hospital wireless deployment. With an urgent shortfall in time available for the completion of the project, iNE designed a mobile non metal access point "bucket trolley", allowing Cisco access points to be rolled around the hospital on light car battery power, enabling surveying to occur for the full 8-10 hours available during daylight.
The subsequent 8 week project was cut down to 5 weeks, and provided the analysis required to know that indeed approximately just under 500 access points would be required to provide a 70% overlap signal between Cisco access points, providing a voice network that never failed throughout the hospital for doctors, as well as data. 186,000 square metres later, and the AirMagnet Survey Pro report document gave precise network analysis to install a best practice wireless network in a critical environment that is Westmead Hospital, in 3 dimensions.
